University of North Dakota

University of North Dakota (UND) was founded in 1883—six years before the state itself was established. The school gave North Dakota its name when the former Dakota territories separated into two distinct states. Situated on a 521-acre campus and serving 13,615 students, today, UND it the state’s largest university and the fourth most military-friendly school in the nation.

UND offers more than 250 programs in nine colleges and schools. The school’s 2020-2021 Catalog lists several programs for aspiring Graphic Designers across two schools. The College of Arts & Sciences houses the Department of Art & Design, which offers a BFA and Minor in Graphic Design and a BFA with a Major in Graphic Design and New Media. The College of Business and Public Administration offers a BS with a Major in Graphic Design Technology.

Depending on the program, students will complete a Design Capstone, participate in an Art Exhibition and/or Professional Exhibition, a Design Internship, or all of the above. All students will leave the programs with a professional portfolio of their best work.

Graduates of the UND Graphic Design Programs go on to establish careers in Advertising, Art Direction, Graphic Design, Illustration, Photography, Production Design, Web Design, and many others.
