The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) at University of Delaware (UD) houses 23 academic departments and 27 programs. The CAS Department of Art & Design has a Visual Communications Program that leads to a BFA (BFA-VC). Program features include visiting artists and designers, internships, immersive studio experiences that encourage learning by doing, field trips, and study abroad experiences.
The 124-credit hour BFA-VC Program begins with two years in Core Art and Design courses. During the Junior and Senior years, students will complete 36 credit hours of BFA-VC courses. Examples include Design Methods, Experimental Type, Interaction Design, Typographic Methods, Design Contexts, and Design Studio. The program culminates with a BFA Project and Exhibition. Students will leave the BFA-VC Program with a polished portfolio of their work.
Graduates of the University of Delaware Visual Communications Program are prepared to pursue careers in design-related professions such as Advertising, Graphic Design, Motion Graphics, Illustration, and Digital Media.
