1. Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana
The School of Art at Louisiana State University (LSU) provides two paths to study graphic design: the Studio Art BFA and MFA. Students in both programs can concentrate in graphic design. Other program benefits include participation in the Arts, Visualization, Advanced Technologies and Research (AVATAR) Initiative; workshops and lectures by visiting artists; access to the IDEA Hub, studio spaces, the Fabrication Factory, teaching labs, and the Design Shop; and the opportunity to join the Digital Art and Design Association (DADA) or the Graphic Design Student Organization (GDSA). Graduates can be found at places such as Sony, Lucasfilm, IBM, Pixar, Baltimore Museum of Art, The Washington Post, Conagra Brands, DreamWorks, Travel + Leisure, Disney, Halliburton, KPMG, and Nissan North America.
2. Tulane University, New Orleans, Louisiana
The School of Professional Advancement (SoPA) at Tulane University (Tulane) has a Media + Design program with several paths to study graphic design. Options include the Digital Design BA with a Graphic Design track (online or on campus); an online Post-Baccalaureate (PBC) certificate in Graphic Design; the PBC Digital Design certificate (on campus); and the Graphic Design minor (on campus). Students in all programs have opportunities to participate in professional conferences and symposiums; the internship program; and study abroad experiences in places such as London and Greece. Graduates have been hired at places such as Ford, Walt Disney Imagineering, FX Networks, Gensler, Time Inc., HGA, and Jacobs.
3. Loyola University New Orleans, New Orleans, Louisiana
The College of Music and Media at Loyola University of New Orleans (Loyno) houses the School of Communication and Design. Within the school are two paths to study graphic design. Options include the Graphic Design BDes and the Mass Communication BA with a Visual Communication (VC) concentration. Across programs, students benefit from internship opportunities at places such as New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA); access to state-of-the-art studios and labs; and study abroad experiences in more than 50 countries. Loyno Design graduates have gone on to establish careers with the New Orleans Saints, Amazon, Disney, EY, Penguin Random House, the FBI, Jimmy Choo, and Nissan.
