1. Rutgers University-Camden, Camden, New Jersey
The Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) at Rutgers University-Camden (Rutgers-Camden) is home to the Visual, Media, and Performing Arts (VMPA) Department. Within the department is a Visual Arts program leading to a BA or BFA with a concentration in Graphic Design. An interdisciplinary Graphic Design minor is also available. All students benefit from a collaborative studio-based curriculum; small class sizes; courses taught by professional artists and designers; access to state-of-the-art graphic design studios, animation labs, and post-production labs; and internship opportunities. Graduates can be found at places such as MTV, Amazon, NBCUniversal, Disney, Marvel Comics, Vogue, Lockheed Martin, and IBM.
2. The College of New Jersey, Ewing, New Jersey
The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) is home to the School of the Arts and Communication. Within the school is the Department of Design and Creative Technology which offers a Visual Arts BFA program with a specialization in Graphic Design and a Graphic Design minor. BFA students have opportunities to intern with Nickelodeon, DreamWorks, and Amazon, among others. Other program benefits include direct mentorship from faculty members; portfolio development workshops and courses; resume review sessions; and mock interview. The School of Art and Design at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) has several paths to study Graphic Design. Options include a Digital Design BA; an online Digital Design MS (MSDD); and a Digital Design MFA (MFADD). Across programs, students benefit from internship opportunities; workshops and seminars; visiting artists; access to state-of-the-art labs and studios; and participation in the NJIT study abroad program.
