The Visual, Media, and Performing Arts (VMPA) Department at Rutgers University—Camden (Rutgers—Camden) houses a Graphic Design BFA program, a Visual Art BA with a concentration in Graphic Design, and a Graphic Design minor. All programs are studio-based, with courses taught by professional artists and designers. Other program benefits include access to dedicated graphic design facilities; internships with the Philadelphia 76ers and Marvel, to name a few; and faculty-led study abroad experiences in destinations like Greece, Ireland, France, South Africa, Germany, South Korea, and Italy. Graduates can be found at places such as Amazon, Lockheed Martin, The Philadelphia Inquirer, NBCUniversal, MTV, Disney, IBM, The Campbell’s Company, Marvel Comics, Dell, Subaru of America, ADP, Vogue, and Leidos.
The Michael Graves College of Architecture and Design at Kean University (Kean) houses the Robert Busch School of Design (RBSD), which provides two paths to study graphic design. Students can enroll in the Graphic Design (GD) BFA or the GD BFA with an Interactive Advertising option. Both options provide opportunities for professional internships at places such as Bonobos and Mansueto Ventures (publisher of Inc. and Fast Company); collaborations with nonprofit and public partners; and study abroad experiences in Italy and China. All students also have access to state-of-the-art production facilities and the faculty-led design studio KLabs. Graduates have been hired at places such as Saatchi & Saatchi, Google, McCann Worldgroup, Disney, FCB, West Elm, R/GA, Major League Baseball, Ogilvy, and Dentsu.
