The College of Liberal Arts at Purdue University (Purdue) is home to the Patti and Rusty Rueff School of Design, Art, and Performance. Within the school is the Department of Art and Design, which provides a flexible Integrated Studio Arts BFA with a major or minor in Drawing and Illustration. Other program features include access to state-of-the-art studios and production spaces; field trips to conferences, galleries, and design exhibitions; demonstrations by visiting artists and designers; summer internships; and a co-op program. Graduates are prepared to pursue careers in fields such as animation, book publishing, games, advertising, multimedia production, comics, graphic design, and photojournalism.
Indiana University Indianapolis (IU Indianapolis) is home to Herron School of Art and Design (Herron), which houses a Drawing and Illustration BFA program, with the opportunity to add a Book Arts or Graphic Design minor. Students have access to more than 70 studio spaces; state-of-the-art production and fabrication facilities; 10,000+ square feet of exhibition space; dozens of classrooms and labs; and critique spaces. The program culminates with the Thesis Exhibition. Graduates are prepared to pursue titles such as Children's Book Illustrator, Storyboard Artist, Editorial Illustrator, Game Artist, Comic Book Illustrator, Cartoonist, Technical Illustrator, Graphic Novel Illustrator, and Scientific Illustrator.
