1. Nanyang Polytechnic, Ang Mo Kio, Singapore
Nanyang Polytechnic

The School of Design and Media (SDM) at Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) is home to the Animation, Games and Visual Effects (VFX) diploma program. A unique component of the program is the mandatory 24-week internship, which provides the opportunity to work with major studios such as Pixar, Weta FX, Lucasfilm, Ubisoft, and Disney. Other program highlights include specializations in Animation, Games or Visual Effects; hands-on projects with industry partners; access to state-of-the-art production facilities; and pathways to four-year degrees at places such as DigiPen and University of the Arts Singapore (UAS). 

The program culminates with a final project (short film). Graduates have secured roles at places such as Blizzard Entertainment, Lucasfilm, Disney, Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), Ubisoft Singapore, Netflix, Sony Pictures Imageworks, DNEG, Sparky Animation, Koei Tecmo Singapore, and Mighty Bear Games.

3dsense Media School

3dsense Media School provides several paths to study animation. Options include one-year intensive diplomas in 3D Animation, VFX and 3D Modeling; Game Art and 3D Animation; and Concept Art and Illustration. Across programs, students benefit from industry-focused curriculums; hands-on projects; courses led by accomplished animators, filmmakers, and game designers; access to state-of-the-art production facilities; and professional internships. Programs culminate with a market-ready animated film, game, or other work. Graduates can be found at places such as Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), Ubisoft, Riot Games, Weta FX, Electronic Arts (EA), Framestore, Animal Logic, and Bandai Namco. 

3. Singapore Polytechnic, Dover, Singapore
Singapore Polytechnic

Established in 1954, Singapore Polytechnic (SP) is the country’s oldest polytechnic institute. The school has a Media, Arts and Design (Animation and Games) program with two concentrations including 3D Art and Interactive Media. Leading to a diploma, the program highlights real-world projects; access to state-of-the-art animation studios and a virtual production facility; a required minor such as 5G and Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) or Business Management; and a mandatory 22-week internship. 

The program culminates with the Final Year Project (FYP) consisting of an animated film, playable game, market-ready app, or other related area. Graduates have been hired at places such as Sparky Animation, CraveFX, miHoYo, Chips and Toon, HoYoverse, Mighty Jaxx, Garena, Publicis Groupe, and Trinax.
