Scope of Program:
University of Maryland Eastern Shore, a Historically Black College, offers concentrations in Graphic Illustrations and Sequential Arts (Comics) within its Applied Design program. Applied Design students begin their studies with foundational courses in drawing, design, photography, painting and art history. Graphic Illustration students focus on illustration, anatomy, visual computing and digital photography.
Students complete an internship and senior project. Sequential Arts students concentrate on visual and advanced computing, cartooning, digital photography, anatomy and sequential arts studio. Students complete a senior project.
Merit and need-based scholarships are available. Maryland residents are encouraged to apply for Knott Scholarships and the Maryland Awards Program.
