Scope of Program:
Digital Technology and Culture students at Washington State University Tri-Cities choose one of four concentrations: Multimedia Authoring, Culture and Technology, e-Commerce or Electronic Art. Students in all four concentrations complete coursework in multimedia authoring, computers and society, writing, digital media, digital diversity, electronic research and the rhetoric of information, language, texts and technology and art, science and technology. All students complete an internship or create a senior thesis.
Multimedia Authoring students focus on digital animation, interactive media, experimental animation and usability and interface design. Culture and Technology students concentrate on digital literacies, history in media, computer-human interaction and special topics in digital technology and culture. E-Commerce students complete coursework in managing information technology, marketing, business management systems and global e-commerce. Electronic Art students take courses in interactive media, experimental animation, time-based media and print-based media.
Students may incur art fees of up to $25 per class. Merit and need-based scholarships are available. Residents of Washington may apply for state-sponsored scholarships and grants.
