Scope of Program:
Art students at Winston-Salem State University complete foundation coursework in drawing, 2D, 3D and 4D design, art history, painting, sculpture, figure drawing, photography and African-American art. Students in the Computer Graphics and Animation concentration focus on electronic imaging, computer animation, vector graphics, multimedia editing, 3D computer modeling, interactive media design, desktop and immersive virtual reality, typography and design for the Web. All students complete a senior studio and seminar and create a portfolio and senior exhibition.
Winston-Salem State University is a historically black university. An interview and portfolio are required for application to the Art program. Need-based and merit scholarships are available. North Carolina residents are encouraged to apply for state grants and scholarships.
