Hello everyone! I'm 17 year old Chantiel! This project was made using an array of programs, I used Paint Tool Sai to storyboard and create backgrounds and designs. For my animation process I used Moho 12 (a.k.a Anime Studio), which allowed me to created a unique blend of 2D raster, frame by frame and vector manipulation in order to create my imitation of Disney. The editing process is where I added the rain and changed the entire outlook of the project, this was done in Sony Vegas 14, I I wanted it to have the grunge and softness of the 1998 trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAbGAkkOgcM (Mulan). Now this had me pushing myself a lot to get this made, I go to a very academic heavy school called Paxon and let me tell you, balancing this and all of my homework was intense. But I am so glad I pushed through and managed to get this project done! If it wasn't for this contest I wouldn't have had any inspiration to make a parody, I usually make silly animations using characters I created myself, but this was a challenge to step out of my comfort zone. My inspiration for this parody (or tribute) is of couse the Walt Disney classic, Mulan. It might seem odd but I had always asked myself, "What if Mulan was a boy"? Now of course my twist on the story is more extreme but I think I did a decent job. The trailer's story is: A young girl named Lihua is about to be sent off in a marriage that was arranged by the matchmaker. However there is one issue, Lihua doesn't love her suitor, Feng. But Bolin her younger brother won't let anyone take his sister , so he resorts to the most dramatic measure. So what will become of Bolin and Feng? How will Bolin get himself out of the clutches of Feng without Feng ever finding out the truth? You can find out all of that and more when the movie comes out in 2109. Haha, see you there and thanks for reading!
