Special Delivery

The new elf in Santa’s workshop learns the hard way that making toys is not as easy as it seems! For my entry I wanted to create a cute, funny, and light animation, so I had the characters move in silly ways in time with the music, with a plot that escalates a little too quickly for our poor elf protagonist who just wanted to make a toy. I also made sure not to use words and dialogue in the story so that it can be enjoyed and understood by many. In order to create an animation as quickly as possible without sacrificing quality, this entry makes use of both cut-out style animation mixed with some frame by frame elements. For added texture, some of the backgrounds and character parts were drawn in Photoshop. "Special Delivery" was animated mostly in Flash, with one scene animated in After Effects.
