Scope of Program:
The Animation & Game Arts major was started in 2013 and is designed for students who want to pursue a career as a visual artist in the fields of animation, game art and mobile media design. The program teaches a variety of industry-relevant knowledge including: hand and digital drawing, animation and storyboarding, development of 2D character design and 3D environments, history, theory, gaming strategies, proficiency in the use of art-making software and critical analysis of interactive culture.
The Graphic Design program produces creative, informed, contemplative, visually astute designers able to grow within a continually evolving, dynamic profession. The program supports the creative process with a broad and carefully sequenced multiform curriculum emphasizing the fundamentals of design through concept development, sketching, prototyping, image making, typography, digital technology, time-based design, interactive media and web design.
